That is the extent of my phrasebook learning. Oh, and "xiexie" (thankyou). everything else is a complete mystery to me. Luckily I've found these mp3 travel scenarios at Rough Guides to d/l to my iPod - Free of charge! I bought a lonely planet Mandarin phrase book the other day, but while it helps by providing lots of travel relevant phrases such as "Can I have a lawyer who speaks English" and "I don't want a blood transfusion", they don't explain pronunciation very well, which is where these mp3s come in.
I would love to keep yapping on about my lack of linguistic knowledge, but I'm boring everyone senseless, so I'll come back when I've got something interesting to discuss.
